BikeNear began with a very simple idea: when we travel, by bike or on foot, we often need the simplest things.
A fountain where you can refill your water bottle.
A water kiosk.
A place to charge an e-bike.
An area where you can stop, eat something or rest.
A place where you can pitch a tent.
And, tomorrow, many other small services that can make a journey easier.
BikeNear aims to bring these places together on a single map, free and accessible to everyone.
The project starts in Salento, where many places are already known and checked directly, but it has no borders. Anyone, wherever they are, can report a new useful place.
Every report is checked before it is published, because the goal is not to have the map with the most points, but a map with genuinely useful and reliable information.
